Monaassib was a British-bred brown gelding foaled in 1991 by Cadeaux Genereux out of Pluvial (Habat).
The sprinter was owned by Maktoum Al Maktoum and was with Ed Dunlop during his first year as a trainer at Newmarket in 1994. Unraced as a 2-y-o, Monaassib would eventually run in 36 races, winning ten times and being placed on a further ten occasions. The gelding won twice at G3 level, and twice in Listed races as well as being placed in G1 and G2 events.
