The colt won two races, most notably the G1 Middle Park Stakes. As a 3-y-o Lycius finished 2nd in three G1 races the 2,000 Guineas, the July Cup and the Prix Jacques Le Marois.
Lycius firstly stood at Stud in Ireland and latterly in the USA and achieved modest successes.
