The cap velvet is good condition, as is the lining and braid.
The cap represents Carey's 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th International appearance for the Republic, in the match against Switzerland played on 18th September at Dalymount Park, Ireland defeated Switzerland 4-0, in the match against Poland played on 13th November at Dalymount Park, Ireland defeated Poland 3-2, Carey scoring one goal, In the match against Hungary played on 19th March at The Mardyke, Cork, Hungary and Ireland drew the match 2-2, Carey scoring one goal, in the return match against Hungary played on 18th May in Budapest, the game again ended 2-2, in the match Germany played on 23rd May in Bremen, the teams drew the match 1-1
