The winning jockey’s trophy presented to Pat Eddery for the victory on Red Glow in the 1988 Dante Stakes at York, In the form of a cut-glass decanter & stopper, inscribed with race details, large chip and hole to neck and rim, height 25.5cm. Red Glow was a British-bred bay colt (1985) by Kalaglow out of Cherry Hinton (Nijinsky). Pat Eddery won the Dante six times between Beldale Flutter in 1981 and Tenby in 1993, including Hot Touch in 1983 (see lot 193). He was owned by Mr E B Moller and trained at Newmarket by Geoff Wragg. This was his only career win. He finished 4th in Kahyasi's Derby, having been a little unlucky in running.
