Enzo Francescoli: a claret Torino No.10 jersey worn in the 1993-94 European Cup Winners' Cup Quarter-final 2nd Leg v Arsenal at Highbury 15th March 1994, long-sleeved by Lotto, club and Coppa Italia badges En route to Arsenal's European Cup Winners' Cup victory in season 1993-94, Arsenal defeated Torino in a tight quarter-final. Having finished goalless in Turin, the teams were ultimately separated by a 66th Tony Adams header from a Paul Davis free-kick. This No.10 shirt was gained as a swap by Ian Wright from the elegant Uruguayan attacking midfielder Enzo Francescoli. 'El Principe' had arrived in Euorpe from River Plate in 1986, and after spells at Racing Club Paris, Olympique Marseille (Ligue 1 Champions 1989-90) and Cagliari played one season for Torino in 1993-94 before returning to end his career back at River Plate. He was a stalwart of the Uruguayan national team winning 73 caps between 1982 and 1997, at the time a record number for an outfield player. He played in the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, and three Copa Americas between 1983 and 1995. Francescoli was twice voted South American Footballer of the Year
