George Weah: a blue & red Paris Saint-Germain No.9 jersey worn in the European Cup Winners' Cup semi-final first-leg v Arsenal at the Parc des Princes, Paris, 29th March 1994, short-sleeved by Nike, This jersey was gained as a swap by Ian Wright who had scored the Arsenal goal in the 1-1 draw in Paris. A Kevin Campbell goal in the return leg at Highbury was enough to see the Gunners progress to the final. The Liberian striker George Weah made 96 League appearances during his spell at PSG between 1992 and 1995. Arsene Wenger had originally spotted Weah's talent signing him to Monaco from Cameroon League football in 1988. After a successful spell with AC Milan between 1995 and 2000 where he helped the Italian Giants to two Serie A titles, Weah played briefly in the Premier League on loan at Chelsea where he won a F.A. Cup winner's medal in the 2000 Cup final, then moving to Manchester City. In 1995 George Weah was voted FIFA World Player of the Year, UEFA European Footballer of the Year and African Footballer of the Year.
