Mark Of Esteem was a bay colt foaled in 1993 by Darshaan out of Homage (Ajdal). He was bred and raced by Sheik Mohammed and as a two-year-old sent to Henry Cecil. Following a disagreement over Mark Of Esteem’s race planning, that aired in public, Sheikh Mohammed took away his 40 horses from Warren Place. Mark Of Esteem transferred to Saeed bin Suroor to race in the Godolphin colours.

Having wintered in Dubai, Marl Of Esteem won on his three-year-old reappearance in the 2,000 Guineas. The colt won a second G1 mile race in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, which was also part of jockey Frankie Dettori’s ‘Magnificent Seven.’

At Stud, he sired two Classic winners Sir Percy (Derby) and Ameerat (1,000 Guineas), amongst other good horses.
