Memorabilia relating to Lord Howard de Walden's racehorse and stallion 'Kris', including a blanket worn by Kris at the Thornton Stud, with lettering in black; a colour photograph of Kris mounted with hand written dedication 'To Susan Warmald, Howard de Walden 1994' in blue ink, glazed and framed, overall 24 by 18.5cm.; a 19 by 24cm colour photograph of Kris with handler; two green bound 'The Animal Health Trust Stallion Record Book' relating to Kris, dated from 1981 to 1991, each with ink annotations; sold together with collection of six thoroughbred mating books for the Thornton Stud, Thirsk, privately published and personally owned by Lord Howard de Walden, comprising 1977, 1978, 1989, 1991, 1992 and 1993, some bound in apricot coloured leather with gilt crest, each with wear and some annotations, (qty) Kris was a 1976 home-bred for Lord Howard de Walden who was unbeaten as a 2-y-o. The following season he developed into an outstanding miler winning the St James's Palace Stakes, Sussex Stakes. Queen Elizabeth II stakes and other races. A success at stud, Kris was leading stallion in 1905. He sired the Fillies' Triple Crown winner Oh So Sharp and the Oaks winner Unite.
