Ex-Pelé Collection: Brazilian Order of Cultural Merit bestowed to Pelé and presented by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva 9th November 2004, at a ceremony also attended by Gilberto Gil the Brazilian Government’s Minister of Culture, a four-piece set, comprising the order in gilt & enamel to be hung over the shoulder by long red satin ribbon with rosette; another order in gilt & enamel in the form of a large badge with gilt eight-point .star, brooch fitting; a bar pin in gilt & red satin with stud fittings; and a gilt and red satin lapel pin with stud fitting, the bar indicates it is a "Knight" degree of the Order, the design incorporating a Cross of Saint James of the Sword (70 by 60mm.) , enamelled in white, outlined in gold, the centre featuring an open book in gold flanked by laurel and encircled in red enamel with the legend "ORDEM DO MÉRITO CULTURAL" all pieces issued in a red velvet case measuring  28 by 18.5 by 7.5cm., fine condition; sold together with the diploma for the presentation in red velvet hardbound folder (2) Provenance: The Pelé Collection.
