A collection of personal items and memorabilia relating to the Munich Air Disaster and kept by Duncan Edwards fiancée Molly Leech and her family, the lot including a press photograph of Molly Leech arriving at Munich Airport accompanied an airport superintendent, Molly's German visitors registration card and Munich hotel room card, a series of handwritten letters sent to Molly offering condolences after the death of Duncan, including an example from Canada, photographs of Duncan Edwards grave and headstone, an invitation by the Mayor of the borough of Stretford for a reception held at the town hall 7th March 1958 to which the medical and nursing staff of the Munich hospital were also invited, a further invitation for the 8th of March 1958 by the Lord Mayor of Manchester for a dinner at the town hall which the German medical personnel also attended, football programme for a Duncan Edwards memorial fund match played at Hingley's athletic football ground 30th April 1958 and other programmes, telegrams and one from his England teammate Ronnie Clayton and other miscellaneous items including newspapers and cuttings, and later material including a 40th anniversary service sheet at Manchester Cathedral, all contained in plastic sleeves in two ring binder folders, (2 folders) Lots 669 to 710 Provenance: The Molly Leech Collection.
