A hoof from Prince Regent, the 1946 Cheltenham Gold Cup and 1942 Irish Grand National winner, the polished hoof with a silver-plated/chrome mounted and engraved Prince Regent. The legendary Prince Regent, trained by Tom Dreaper, won 12 races in his native Ireland during World War II including the 1942 Irish Grand National. When racing resumed in England, he won the 1946 Cheltenham Gold Cup by five lengths and looked a certainty in the ensuing Grand National, landing clear over the final fence before exhaustion, age and top weight of 12st. 7lb. caught up with him and he finished a distant third to Lovely Cottage. He won five more races and was fourth in the 1947 National before retiring in 1949. Dreaper rated him so highly that only after two Gold Cup wins did he concede the great Arkle ''might be the Prince's equal.''
