A silver-plated inkwell presented to Jack Budd Esq. Vice-Chairman of Chelsea Football Club, on the occasion of the Hearts v Chelsea match 21st April 1947 in the form of a crowned seated lion holding a Shield in its paws, the shield engraved '' Presented to Jack Budd Esq Vice Chairman Chelsea Football Club Ltd'', the plinth further engraved ''As a token of friendship on the occasion of his first visit to Edinburgh from The Heart of Midlothian Football Club Ltd Monday 21st April 1947'', height 25cm., good John Ernest Claude ''Jack'' Budd is buried at West Brompton Cemetery in the same grave as Chelsea FC's first chairman Claude Kirby. The headstone describes Budd as being Kirby's ward.
