Osvaldo Ardiles: a blue & white striped Argentina No.8 jersey worn in the match v Scotland at the Estadio de Boca Juniors, Buenos Aires, 18th June 1977, by Adidas, long-sleeved; sold with a signed letter of authenticity from the Scottish international Don Masson, framed; and an Ossie Ardiles signed b&w photo, framed (3) This jersey was gained as a swap by QPR & Scotland's Don Masson. This was the second of the three game South American Tour of 1977. The game ended as a 1-1 draw. Don Masson had given the Scots the lead through a 77th minute penalty, only for Passarella to equalise from the spot 3 minutes later. Ossie Ardiles won a total of 63 international caps for Argentina between 1973 and 1982, scoring 8 goals, and was part of the World Cup winning team of 1978. Following the tournament he and fellow World Cup winner Ricky Villa were signed by Tottenham Hotspur. Ardiles achieved cult hero status in England and made 221 League appearances in a ten year spell interrupted by a forced loan spell to Parus Saint Germain in the wake of the Falklands War in 1982.
