London 2012 Olympic Stadium athletics track Lane No.5 marking, a section of the red vulcanized rubber dual layer athletics track installed by the Italian manufacturer Mondo, removed from its position at the termination of the sprint track beyond the 100m & 110m (hurdles) starts, bearing the 'No.5' lane marking in white in the ''2012Headline'' typeface designed by Gareth Hague for the London 2012 Games, the first time that an Olympic running track was marked with anything other than generic Arabic numerals, measurement approx. 120 by 105cm.; sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Mayor of Newham (2) Two gold medals were won from Lane 5 at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Kirani James created history for Grenada by becoming the country's first medallist in any Olympic sport when winning the men's 400m; whilst Russia's Natalya Antyukh won the women's 400m Hurdles. Both 100m silver medals were won in Lane 5, by Yohan Blake (Jamaica) in the men's & Carmelita Jeter (USA) in the women's. Lane 5 bronze medallists comprised Kellie Wells (USA) in the women's 100m Hurdles, Javier Culson (Puerto Rico) in the men's 400m Hurdles; and in both the men's & women's 4 x 100m Relay events - Jimmy Vicaut, Christophe Lemaitre, Pierre-Alexis Pessonneaux & Ronald Pognon for France, and Olesya Povh, Hrystyna Stuy, Mariya Ryemyen & Elyzaveta Bryzgina for Ukraine. At the Paralympics 12 gold medals were won from Lane 5, comprising: Men's 100m - T13: Jason Smyth (Republic of Ireland), Men's 100m - T46: Zhao Xu (China), Men's 100m - T51: Toni Piispanen (Finland), Men's 100m - T53: Mickey Bushell (Great Britain), Women's 200m - T12: Assia El Hannouni (France), Men's 200m - T13: Jason Smyth (Republic of Ireland), Women's 200m - T35: Liu Ping (China), Women's 200m - T37: Johanna Benson (Namibia, country's first ever Olympic/Paralympic gold medal), Men's 200m - T38: Evan O'Hanlon (Australia), Men's 200m - T42: Richard Whitehead (Great Britain), Men's 200m - T46: Yohansson Nascimento (Brazil) & Women's 400m - T12: Assia El Hannouni (France).
