Centre-back Norman ''Bites Yer Legs'' Hunter was a stalwart of Don Revie's Leeds United team and made a total of 540 League appearances between 1962 and 1976. For over a decade he formed a central defensive partnership with England World Cup Winner Jack Charlton. Both hailed from the north-east. Amongst career honours, Norman Hunter was the first recipient of the PFA Players' Player of the Year Award in 1973-74.
