A Billy Walker gold medal bracelet, a group of five medals awarded to Walker during his football career, later used to form a gold fitted bracelet and chain, the medals comprising: i) a 15ct. gold F.A. Cup winner's medal inscribed 1920, ENGLISH CUP, WINNERS, ASTON VILLA F.C., W.H. WALKER, 1919-1920 ii) a 9ct. gold F.A. Cup runners-up medal, inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, CHALLENGE CUP, RUNNERS UP, hallmark date stamp for 1923-24 iii) a 15ct. gold 1924 F.A. Charity Shield medal [Professionals v Amateurs], inscribed FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHARITY SHIELD iv) a 9ct. gold Football League representative medal, inscribed THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, ENGLAND v SCOTLAND, CELTIC PARK, GLASGOW, MARCH 13th 1926 v) a 9ct. gold Football League representative medal, inscribed THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE, ENGLAND v SCOTLAND, INTER-LEAGUE MATCH, LEICESTER, MARCH 19th 1927 The first medal represents Bill Walker's first major success of his career and was awarded for his part in the Aston Villa victory in the 1920 F.A. Cup Final, the first Cup to be staged since 1915. Villa beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 after extra time at Stamford Bridge. The second medal is from Walker's second appearance in a F.A. Cup Final, and his first at Wembley, and this time as captain. On this occasion, however, Aston Villa were defeated 2-0 by Newcastle United. The third medal was awarded for Billy Walker's appearance in the 1924 F.A. Charity Shield playing for 'The Professionals' v 'The Amateurs'. The game was played at Arsenal's Highbury stadium and Walker scored two goals in the Pros 3-1 win. Villa team-mate Frank Moss was also in the team, Charlie Buchan scored the other goal. The fourth & fifth medals were awarded to Walker for his representation of the Football League in matches versus the Scottish Football League. The Football League won the 1926 game at Celtic Park 2-0, whilst the 1927 game at Filbert Street ended as a 2-2 draw.
