A bronze medal for the Blue Stars Youth Tournament in Switzerland in 1962 awarded to Manchester United's first black footballer Dennis Walker, the obverse struck with a footballer, the reverse inscribed JUNIOREN-TURNIER, F.C. BLUE STARS, ZURICH, SIEGER, 1962; sold with a letter of provenance from the present vendor, and three personal photographs dating from 1980 featuring Dennis Walker, the present vendor and his son (5) Dennis Allen Walker was born in Hackney, London, 26th October 1944. The midfielder signed to Manchester United in 1961 and made one first-team appearance v Nottingham Forest on 20th May 1963, before he was released and joined York City, and then finished his career at Cambridge United in 1972. Dennis Walker died at Stockport 11th August 2003 aged 58.
