Gary Lineker: a white Tottenham Hotspur No.10 jersey worn in the 1991 F.A. Cup semi-final match v Arsenal at Wembley Stadium, long-sleeved with v-neck collar and embroidered club badge, applied dark blue chevrons and embroidered Football League flashes to sleeves The above jersey was worn by Spurs' Gary Lineker in the famous 1990-91 F.A. Cup semi-final against north London rivals Arsenal. This was the first semi-final to be staged at Wembley in the entire history of the competition. A wonder long range free kick goal by Paul Gascoigne inspired Tottenham Hotspur to a 3-1 victory. The other two goals were scored by Gary Lineker himself. Spurs went on to lift the Cup for the 8th time in their history by defeating Nottingham Forest 2-1 in the final, after extra-time. After the semi-final a delighted Gary Lineker threw this, his match shirt into the Spurs section of the Wembley crowd just before entering the player's tunnel. The Spurs fan who caught the shirt sold it at Sotheby's auction of 14th July 2000 where it was bought by the present vendor.
