A 9ct. gold Northern League Championship medal won by Middlesbrough in season 1893-94, the obverse with engraved F.K. monogram, the reverse inscribed NORTHERN LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, 1893-4, M'BRO. F.C. Middlesbrough won the title with 62 points, four clear of Whitby. It endorsed the club's decision to return to amateurism having turned professional in 1889. The following season Middlesbrough triumphed in the F.A. Amateur Cup.
