This was the key innings for India and which featured a 122-run partnership with Virat Kohli. How crucial Yuvi's runs were to prove when India collapsed, losing their last seven wickets for the addition of just 50 runs. It was a bouncy track at Chennai which suited the West Indian pacemen and Yuvraj had to contend with a barrage of bouncers and a wicket that would also make the odd ball misbehave, especially to the left-handers. As if this was not difficult enough, all the time the 'Lion of Punjab' was bravely fighting the symptoms of dehydration and sickness. It was a an outstanding knock with Yuvraj pulling over mid-wicket, cover-driving for fours along the ground, sweeping the leg spin of Devendra Bishoo, and producing the shot of the day hitting Sammy beyond long-on for a majestic six. One commentator noted: ''it was one of those days when Yuvraj was feeling it; one of those days when he plays one level above the game around him.'' Yuvraj wasn't finished there, he then proceeded to chip in with two wickets during the opponents reply when it seemed that the 'Windies' were set fair with their run chase at 154-2 in the 30th over, before a truly spectacular collapse saw them bowled out for 188.
