An early Scottish football trophy: The Kirkcaldy Junior Football Association Challenge Cup instituted 1886, in the form of a two-handled cup & cover by David Dow of Glasgow in 'gold' finished Britannia metal, the body with a panel depicting a football match in raised relief, the cover with a footballer finial, inscribed KIRKCALDY JUNIOR FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION CHALLENGE CUP, INSTITUTED 1886, further inscribed with details of winners from seasons 1885-86 to 1891-92, the winners from 1892-93 to 1910-11 engraved on a plaque applied to the trophy's turned ebonised base, the winners for 1911-12 & 1912-13 inscribed on the trophy, the base plaque then further inscribed with the winners for seasons 1913-14, 1916-17, 1921-22 & 1922-23, 1923-24, 1926-27 to 1928-29, 1930-31, 1931-32, 1946-47, 1949-50 and 1950-51, overall height when sitting on plinth 56cm., 22in.
