Bayly (Captain W.) The Cricket Chronicle For The Season 1863, a record, with full scores of matches played in 1863, to be continued annually, volume the first, published by A.H. Baily of London, 1864, original embossed green cloth with gilt lettering dated 1864 Captain Bayly launched his cricket annual in 1864 with the purpose of continued production thereafter. Unfortunately, in the same year a certain Mr John Wisden launched his new cricket annual as well and at a less expensive price. Bayly did not produce another annual in 1865 or any other year, while for Mr Wisden the rest, as they say, is history.
