Frederick Gordon Crosby (1885-1943) BROOKLANDS initialled and titled 'Brooklands' by the artist, a charcoal and pencil sketch depicting Von Der Becke's Riley bursting a tyre on the banking during the 500-miles race, as reproduced on page 525 of The Autocar magazine for September 27 1935, framed and glazed, image 34 by 25cm., 14 by 10in. Despite this setback, A.W.K. von der Becke and co-driver E.Maclure still finished second in the annual Brooklands 'Outer circuit' classic.
