A small collection of John Cobb memorabilia, comprising a postcard impression of Cobb in the Brooklands 'Outer circuit' lap record-holding Napier-Railton mounted above a signature sample, framed and glazed, seven monochrome photographs of the pre-war Land Speed Record attempt with the Railton Special at Bonneville, each 9 by 12cm., 3? by 4?in., A Memory of Fort Dunlop folder containing a 12 by 22cm., 4? by 8?in., monochrome photograph of Cobb and other visitors to the plant, above a signed dedication 'With sincere thanks from John Cobb 29 October 1947', an 8-page brochure entitled '403.1mph! The story of John Cobb's Racing Railton', the first page signed by racing driver and editor of The Autocar, S.C.H. Davis, A4 page size (10) As well as holding the Brooklands lap record of 143.44mph, Cobb also set a World Land Speed Record of 369.7mph before WWII. On 16 September 1947 he returned to Utah and raised this to 394.2mph - the average of two runs at 385.65 and 403.14mph.
