A Liverpool (Rugby) Football Club fixture list for season 1882-83, three-fold with red cloth covers tooled gilt with a Liver Bird & inscribed LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB, 1881-1883, GROUND: AIGBURTH; NEAREST STATION, MERSEY ROAD, the interior pasted with paper fixture lists for first and second team matches, and details of club officials, printed by Henry Greenwood, Liverpool Liverpool Rugby Football Club proudly boasts to be the oldest rugby club in the world with open membership. It was founded in 1857. The club provided three of the England players who participated in the world's first international match versus Scotland in 1871. Remarkably in season 1913-14, the captains of the England, Scotland & Ireland international sides were all Liverpool players. The club has been known as Liverpool St Helens since 1986 and plays Union in the Powergen North One League.
