Harold Hardinge's Football Association itinerary for his sole England international match v Scotland played at Hampden Park 2nd April 1910 sold with two photographs of Hardinge, the first wearing his England shirt, the other in Newcastle United kit (3) Scotland won the 1910 international 2-0. appendix The following lot relates to the career of Harold 'Wally' Hardinge (Sheffield United & England). Harold Thomas William Hardinge was born at Greenwich 25th February 1886. Hardinge was a double-international, being a Kent C.C.C. cricketer for 31 years and making 1 Test appearance for England v Australia at Leeds in 1921. He was later a director of John Wisden & Co. Hardinge also made 1 international appearance for England in the game v Scotland in 1910. The Sheffield United inside-left had struggled to claim a regular place in the outstanding Newcastle United team of the period, but shone with great distinction at Bramall Lane where he was renowned as a tricky performer who liked lying back and drawing defences.
