Vinyl & Pop Culture Timed Auction
Following the success over the last year of the Graham Budd Vinyl and Pop culture sales, we are ready to go again in December, with our first ever Vinyl and Pop Timed sale.
We are already delighted to announce further items from the personal collection of renowned journalist, the late Rick Sanders, which will once again see some superb, rare and very collectable 45 rpm advanced copy singles including Blue Beat, Stax, Soul, Psychedelic and much more to tempt the collector taste buds. This auction will also feature a fascinating set of notes and work relating to his research and interviews for his biography of the legendary Pink Floyd, the first officially approved one to be penned, as well a press photographs, letters and many other unique glimpses into the band that should fascinate their diarists and documenters.
There are also some wonderful counterculture comics illustrated by the likes of Robert Crumb and even his bass guitar, a Burns Sonic from the early 60’s in its original case- a real untouched barn find of its kind, but a guitar with a hefty amount of cool attached to it and no mistake.
We are now consigning for this sale, and on the lookout for much of the same, especially 1960’s examples of Beatles, Kinks, The Who, Small Faces, Pretty Things (both albums and singles), Island Records, Immediate Records, autographs, gig posters and tickets, programmes and such. We would love to hear from our customers if they have any such items they have been treasuring for years and may now be thinking of finding a new keeper for.
For the 70’s, we are looking for Punk, New Wave and classic rock offerings such as Zeppelin, Floyd, Clash and Pistols, and from the CD era the bands that broke the mould and defined post punk and brit pop. In our last sale, a copy of the classic “Definitely Maybe” by Oasis and signed by the original line up made £1,800 on the fall of the hammer, so just imagine what a copy would realise now they have announced reunion gigs next year…
Anything you may have those fits will be in great company with Rick’s fantastic things, so if you would like to find out more, or get a valuation, please contact our Senior Valuer John Garrett at jg@grahambuddauctions.co.uk.
