We’re excited to announce that our auction on October 1st will feature an extensive collection of memorabilia from football legend Viv Anderson, including his now iconic debut 1978 England shirt, walk on tracksuit and England Cap.

Viv's debut with the national team represented much more than just his first game, It would mean something far more significant, he would become the first black player ever to represent the England National Team.

The Career of Viv Anderson
  • 1974: Professional debut with Nottingham Forest.
  • 1977–1978: Played a key role in Nottingham Forest’s First Division title win.
  • 1978: Won the Football League Cup with Nottingham Forest.
  • 1979: Part of the Nottingham Forest team that won the European Cup (now Champions League).
  • 1980: Won the European Cup again with Nottingham Forest.
  • November 1978: Became the first Black footballer to play for the England national team.
  • 1984: Transferred to Arsenal, where he continued to excel at right-back.
  • 1987: Won the Football League Cup with Arsenal.
  • 1987: Moved to Manchester United, reuniting with manager Ron Atkinson.
  • 1990: Won the FA Cup with Manchester United.
  • 1991: Moved to Sheffield Wednesday as player/coach.
  • 1993: Joined Barnsley as player/coach.
  • 30 international caps for England from 1978–1988.
  • 2000: Awarded an MBE for services to football.
  • Inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
