Join us in Sheffield on the 22nd of April

Graham Budd Auctions are delighted to be hitting the road once again, and this time its in support of what we regard as a vitally important project.

Sheffield - Home of Football is a growing movement that has now become a registered charity. Its purpose is to ensure that the Steel City receives the recognition it deserves as the birthplace of modern football. The movement aims to honour and remember those who played pivotal roles in shaping football's legacy in Sheffield. Ultimately, the goal is to establish a museum that will showcase the story and artifacts of football in Sheffield. This will cover everything from the professional pairing of United and Wednesday, to the World's Oldest Football Clubs - Sheffield FC and Hallam, as well as its County Association. The museum will also highlight grassroots football, the women's game, and the iconic stadiums and landmarks that witnessed the early stages of the beautiful game up to the present day.

The event takes place on Monday April 22nd at the Sheffield United museum, at the historic Bramall Lane and runs from 7.00pm until 9.00pm. It will be hosted by GB’s Head of Sporting David Convery and Head Valuer/ Sheffield United Heritage manager John Garrett. John’s son Danny will also be joining our specialist team for the night to talk about his Footballing Graves project that has seen him raise funds to repair and put right some of the last resting places of many long forgotten champions of the sport laid to rest in and around the city. The team will be bringing along our “mobile museum” and also looking at locally based footballing items from their own private collections.

David and John will be hosting a valuation session at the venue from 4 until 6.45pm which is by appointment only. This will give fans the chance to bring along their cherished mementos and also rare vinyl record items for appraisal - to book a slot for this contact jg@grahambuddauctions.co.uk and he will be happy to assist you in any way.

The tickets for the event are available via Eventbrite and are priced at just £5 each. There are limited number, so please don’t leave it too late to book your seat. All monies raised from sales and their own unique merchandise available on the evening go straight back into the project, so support them for what should be a wonderful evening which will also benefit from having a fully licensed pay bar for your enjoyment.

Graham Budd look forward to seeing you at "The Lane”.
