A rare sample red, white and black Sheffield United short sleeved home shirt, 1994-95.
£300 - £400
A rare sample red, white and black Sheffield United short sleeved home shirt, 1994-95, Umbro size L, official early sample, V neck collar with embroidered club badge and a printed sponsorship logo detailed in white as opposed to the final version worn by players and sold commercially that was detailed in the familiar yellow and famously worn by Robert Carlisle in the classic British film shot in Sheffield, The Full Monty.
This is the earliest known example of the final red, white and black home shirt chosen for seasons 1994-95 and was presented to then Club Commercial Manager Andy Daykin for official approval from the Board of Directors, which it received with subtle changes from this prototype to the one which finally appeared on the backs of the players and for sale through Club retail outlets.
Provenance: The Andy Daykin collection.
