Sir George Kynaston Cockerill (British, 1867-1957), bronze bust of Edward Lawrence (Holdie) Holdright, signed and dated George Cockerill, 1934 and with foundry stamp, 55cm. high and similar sized maquette, (2)  

Edward Lawrence Holdright, known as Holdie, established the Holdright Golf and Tennis School in Regents Park, London in the early 1900s. He died in the early 1970s and the school no longer exists. He had an international reputation and taught many of the pros, members of the Royal family and Hollywood stars, amongst others. He established the "Holdright grip".
