A very rare early Royal Arsenal medal, believed to be from the game which took place at the Oval on March 9th 1890 against the Old Westminsters. H.T Offer was born in Rowde in 1869 and scored the Club's first ever FA Cup goal in 1891, going on to represent Burnley, Southampton and Southampton St Mary's.
The medal was located in what was once an Arsenal FC Club house next to the Highbury stadium, which, after a former player had vacated was passed on to the vendor's mother who, for many years was PA to the Directors. The house was purchased from the Club, and then the item surfaced many years later, under floorboards during renovations.
