Shernazar was an Irish-bred bay colt foaled in 1981 by Busted out of Sharmeen (Val De Loir). He was owned by HH The Aga Khan and trained by Michael Stoute at Newmarket.
The colt recorded four career victories, most notably as a four-year-olds in the Glorious Stakes, the September Stakes and the Geoffrey Freer.
As a sire Shernnazar got two G1 winners Houmayoun and Kartajana and was dual-purpose producing many good quality jumpers.
