Soviet Star was an American-bred bay colt foaled in 1984 by Nureyev out of Veruschka (Venture). He was owned by Sheikh Mohammed and trained in France by Andre Fabre.
The colt was an outstanding sprinter and miler, winning at the highest level in the July Cup, the French 2,000 Guineas and the Sussex Stakes, amongst five other career victories.
A successful stud career produced the likes of Starcraft, Starborough, Ashkalani and Soviet Line.
