David McCreery has been quoted in interviews on his career that he was endorsed at the time by Nike boots and, as a result, was the first player to wear the brand in a World Cup Finals, and its interesting that these issued tops are a different manufacturer to that of the national team at the time, with Steve Archibald listed by the manufacturer as being the first to score in a major tournament wearing their product.
