The above cap represents Dunne's 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st appearances for the Republic, in the friendly against Poland played on 30th October 1968 in Katowice, Poland defeated Ireland 1-0, in the World Cup qualifier against Denmark played on 4th December 1968 at Dalymount Park, the teams drew the match 1-1, in the World Cup qualifier against Hungary played on 8th June 1969 at Dalymount Park, Hungary defeated Ireland 2-1 and in the World Cup qualifier against Hungary played on 5th November 1969 in Budapest, Hungary defeated Ireland 4-0.
