Three interesting and rare original concert posters from the late 1960s, consisting of one advertising an event at the London School of Economics on Friday 23rd of May 1969 featuring John Martyn, Rick Sander's own band Occasional Word Ensemble and Mike Hart, 20 x 16in., Duster Bennett and Friend 23x 17 3/4in., 9- Finding the True Horizon and the third for Southampton University Students Union, Saturday October 19th featuring Zap Gun Smith, supported again by The Occasional Word, 30 x 20in., (3) All three posters show age related wear with some edge damage due to storage, but are in generally nice condition. As well as being an accomplished and respected journalist, Rick Sanders was regarded as a superb 12 string bottle neck guitarist who played with many artists as well as his own band, The Occasional Word who were regulars on the live circuit of the time and recorded an album for Dandelion Records, a label founded by influential DJ and lifelong friend John Peel, with the first poster showing them as one of the support acts for the legendary John Martyn.
