SMITH with ring suspension in original case Smith played a major part in the 1960-61 "Double Winning" season, the first to occur in the 20th Century. He was the club's top goal scorer in the "Double" season with 33 goals in just 43 matches including the opening goal in the final. Third in the Spurs all-time goal scorers behind Harry Kane and Jimmy Greaves. In 317 senior matches he scored 208 goals. In the final played on 6th May 1961 at Wembley, Spurs defeated Leicester City 2-0, Smith with the opening goal
