Ex-Pelé Collection: A Brazilian National Order of Merit citation presented to Pelé in 1991 by then President of Brazil Fernando Collor de Mello, honouring Pelé's outstanding achievements, the citation features the Order of National Merit globe emblem and reads (translated from Portuguese) "The President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Grand Master of the National Order of Merit, by decree on this 30th day of August, 1991, confers upon Edson Arantes do Nascimento the official decoration of National Order of Merit."
