Arsenal FC original artwork by the artist Peter Hearsey (British, b.1944) titled 'The People's Game' depicting an Arsenal footballer in red and white kit dribbling a football with further players in the background, on artist's board, unsigned to front, used by the artist's son as an exhibition/fair backdrop to a memorabilia business in the 1990s., mounted in a glazed frame, overall 122 by 92cm. The auction proceeds for this lot are being donated to the "Shirts For Shakey" Appeal. This is a crowdfunding appeal on behalf of the esteemed football shirt collector, researcher and author Simon "Shakey" Shakeshaft and his wife Tracey in their hour of need. The initiative has been organised by the eminent shirt collectors Stephen Plant, Neville Evans and Daren Burney and is being supported by the football shirt collecting community at large. Graham Budd Auctions is pleased to have been appointed as auctioneer for the Appeal and has waived its seller's commission for this lot.
