Japan rugby union tourists to the UK 1976 original British Sportsman’s Club menu, seating plan & invitation for a celebration dinner, to welcome the 1976 Japanese rugby union touring team to the UK, held at the Savoy Hotel, London, 20th September, 1976, decorative Roy Ullyett cartoon to the front cover with further printed details to the inner pages and back cover, the menu signed to the cover by the Japanese centre Shigetaka Mori. The four page seating plan has a vertical former fold mark and the invitation has writing to the back cover which looks like possible speech notes. All three items in good condition The 1976 Japan rugby union tour of Europe was a series of ten matches played by the Japan national rugby union team in the United Kingdom and Italy in September and October 1976. Japan won three and lost seven of their ten matches. They lost all three of the matches against international representative teams; a Scottish XV, England under-23 and Italy.
