Mark Spitz, nine-time Olympic Swimming Gold medal winner 1968-1972, rare original signed personal cheque, size 8 1/4 by 3 1/4in. from The City National Bank, Beverly Hills, California, dated April 30th 1973, for the amount of $45.40 made payable to Rexford Kennamer, very nicely signed by with full ink signature by the Olympic multi-gold winning swimmer, very good condition. Mark Andrew Spitz (born February 10th 1950) is an American former competitive swimmer and nine-time Olympic champion. He was the most successful athlete at the 1972 Olympics in Munich, winning seven gold medals, each in world-record time. This achievement lasted for 36 years, until it was surpassed by fellow American Michael Phelps, who won eight golds at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Between 1968 and 1972, Spitz won nine Olympic golds, a silver, and a bronze, in addition to five Pan American golds, 31 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) titles, and eight NCAA titles, during which time he also set 35 world records.
