A rare cricket scorecard for the Grand Cricket Match between Sheffield and England at Bramall Lane, Sheffield on Monday, July 18th 1859, the card, which comes with a letter of provenance, is one of the earliest documents concerned with the historic stadium that we are aware of and is believed to have been of those printed and sold outside the enclosure by local entrepreneur Billy Whitham, a practice he continued for many years until the ground committee noted it was potentially a valuable source of income. There are signs of a horizontal fold and some slight staining to the upper right hand side of the card.
