Ladies silks scarf commemorating the victory of Nimbus in the 1949 Derby and originally owned by the colt's owner Mrs Marion Glenister, by Welch Margetson & Co Ltd, England, with central portrayal of Nimbus with Charlie Elliott up, surrounded by vignettes with printed details of Derby winners since 1780, yellow border, 88 by 85cm., excellent condition Lots 272 to 294 From the Collection of the Newmarket trainer George Scott Colling (1904-1959); and the Collection of Mrs Marion Glenister, owner of Nimbus, the 1949 Derby & 2,000 Guineas winner, being material subsequently acquired at Graham Budd Auctions. George Colling was the son of R W Colling and brother to Jack, a famous racing dynasty in the history of the turf.
