The winning jockey’s trophy presented to Pat Eddery for the victory on Woodman in the 1985 Anglesey Stakes at The Curragh, In the form of a small boxed electroplated square-form dish, engraved with a racehorse and jockey and inscribed with race details, 14.5cm. square, minor surface scratches Woodman was an American-bred chestnut colt (1983) by Mr Prospector out of Playmate (Buckpasser). He was owned by Mr Robert Sangster and trained in Ireland by Vincent O'Brien. He is perhaps better remembered as a stallion, his most famous progeny including Bosra Sham, Hector Protector and Hawk Wing in Europe; and Hansel, Timber Country and Woodcarver in North America. This was the last of three victories for Pat Eddery in the Anglesey Stakes, a two-year-old G3 ran over an extended 6f at The Curragh in July. The earlier winners were Caerleon in 1982 and Law Society in 1984.
