This prestigious award recognises a lifetime's contribution to the sport and has done so since 1997. Pat Eddery received his award on his retirement in 2003. He is one of three jockeys to have been presented the bronze replica of Sir Peter O'Sullevan's famous race commentary binoculars, the others being Lester Piggott and A P McCoy.
