A pair of Bernard Parkin caricature prints of Lester Piggott, signed by the artist and by the jockey, pen & ink and watercolour, the first portraying Lester in the colours of Mr Robert Sangster, the other in the colours of his post-retirement comeback winner Nicholas at Chepstow in 1990, both 38 by 28cm., unframed; sold with a Bernard Parkin designed Irish linen tea towel titled 'The Cost of Riding' and chronicling the catalogue of injuries suffered by jump jockey Terry Biddlecombe in his riding career between 1958 and 1974, issued for the Injured Jockeys' Fund in 1996 (3 items) European Union’s Artist’s Resale Right Directive (adopted by the United Kingdom): An Artist's Resale Right would be applicable on this lot should the hammer price exceed the currency equivalent of 1,000 Euros (excluding buyer's premium & VAT). Under these circumstances a 4% resale royalty will be added to the buyer's invoice.
