A Festival of British Racing Ascot 1989 gilt medallion, inset in a Theo Fennell case, of circular form, obverse with a horse head profile and FESTIVAL OF BRITISH RACING, SATURDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER, reverse with a main grandstand in relief and ASCOT 1989, diameter 50mm, weight 54gr., in a fitted case, with THEO FENNELL JEWELLER in gilt lettering on the interior cover, in good condition, not hallmarked, case bears some slight wear The main race on this day was the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes won by Zilzal, owned by Mana Al Maktoum, trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by Walter Swinburn. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Cliff Lines, groom of Shergar at Sir Michael Stoute's Freemason Lodge Stables at Newmarket. African Story's 2014 Dubai World Cup Post Position Draw Trophy, the gilt metal presentation in the form of a square turret, raised upon a wooden base with applied gilt plaque, engraved 2014 DUBAI WORLD CUP POST POSITION DRAW, 23 by 12 by 12cm, in a fitted leather case, both in good condition, with little wear Each horse's connections were invited to pick one of these prior to race, each of which had a draw number stuck on the underside of the base. This trophy relates to African Story who won the race, ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, owned by Godolphin, (2)
