Eric Cantona "invisible grey" Manchester United No.7 away jersey season 1995-96,  Umbro, long-sleeved with THE FA PREMIER LEAGUE sleeve badges, club crest and sponsor logo, reverse lettered CANTONA, size XXL This style of jersey is rare as it was only used five times. United lost four out of the five fixtures. It is also infamous for being worn during the league fixture v Southampton, played at The Dell on 13th April 1996, when at half-time Sir Alex Ferguson ordered the team to change to their third choice jerseys due the players not recognising each other on the pitch when they wore these grey jerseys. Shortly before the start of the 1995-96 season, the Premier League introduced a ruling that disallowed shirt makers from having their logos on the shirt numbers. Umbro had already supplied Manchester United with a quantity of kit which had to be withdrawn, this jersey being an example.
