Edwin Alfred Rickards, (British, 1872-1920) "Jubilee Cricket Match", circa 1890s. Pen, ink and watercolour, commemorating Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1897, depicting an elderly top hatted cricketer representing King George III, with old bat greeting a modern cricketer of the later Victorian period, flanking a central figure in MCC colours made of stumps, bat and ball. Signed indistinctly lower right, mounted on card with legend JUBILEE CRICKET MATCH, GEORGE III 52 BOWLED, VITORIA 60 NOT OUT, 27 by 31cm. Glazed and framed, overall 39 by 45cm., signs of foxing on artists paper Please be aware all glass will be removed from framed and glazed items prior to posting and may result in delays to shipping your items.
